What is an Essential Oil?

    Essential Oils are an ancient therapeutic tool. Throughout recorded history there is mention of the use of oils, through Biblical scripture, Egyptian purification, and ancient Chinese medicine.

    Essential Oils are liquids that are distilled from various parts of a plant, including seeds, bark, leaves, stems, roots, flowers, and fruit. The distillation of an entire plant may produce a single drop of oil.

    The essential oil of the plant and the human blood share several common properties: they fight infection, contain hormone-like compounds, and initiate regeneration. Working as the chemical defense mechanism of the plant, essential oils possess potent antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
